Sir John Shore (1793–1798)

Sir John Shore (later Lord Teignmouth) served as Governor-General of Bengal from 1793 to 1798. His tenure is generally remembered as comparatively peaceful, with an emphasis on maintaining stability and following a policy of non-intervention in Indian states’ internal disputes.

Battle of Kharda (1795)

The Battle of Kharda was fought in March 1795 between the Nizam of Hyderabad (Asaf Jah II) and the Maratha Confederacy.
