Bihar–Jharkhand Sone Water Pact & Indrapuri Reservoir Revival
Bihar and Jharkhand have formalised a long-pending agreement on sharing Sone river water, clearing a major obstacle to reviving the Indrapuri reservoir project in Bihar.
Water-sharing pact: key facts
The agreement allocates 5.75 million acre-feet (MAF) of Sone water to Bihar and 2 MAF to Jharkhand.
The combined 7.75 MAF was the share originally allotted to erstwhile undivided Bihar under the 1973 Bansagar Agreement.

Indrapuri reservoir: why the pact matters
